Happy Tuesday guys! James and I just celebrated 6 years of marriage on October 6th! 🙌🏾 We also did it on a Budget lol. I have to say, at first I was really skeptical because last year we went all out, but... IT. WAS. EVERYTHING!
Okay so right now our lives are a little cray cray. I've started a blog, we're both doing music full time (plus I have another part time job), I've also just started selling Paparazzi jewelry, which I guess is another part time job (click on this LINK to shop my store), we're both over the music ministry at our church, and to top all of that, we will be overseas performing this Christmas and New Years holiday season.
With everything that's been going on in our lives, time has been a really big issue for us. We've barely spent any time together outside of working, and since we're saving for our overseas trip, we just wanted a #NetflixandChill kind of day. That being said, I wanted our anniversary to have some sort of "theme", so I made sure we celebrated with things that catered to our 5 senses 👂🏽👀👃🏽👐🏽😝. Check it out!
"CELEBRATING WITH YOUR 5 SENSES "

I don't know about you, but I love it when James tells me that I'm beautiful, so our day was filled with affirmations of our love for one another and a whole lot of compliments.
Suggestion: Try sending a video or audio recording expressing your love for one another. It's cool to have something like that saved in your phone to reference from time to time. It's also a great reminder on those days when marriage isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

James and I LOVE food, but we've recently re-adopted the Paleo lifestyle, so pigging out on all of our favorite non-healthy foods was key! Food brings people together and it helps to create some long lasting memories.
Suggestion: Instead of dining out or cooking, order your favorite take out, grab your favorite dessert, and cozy up next to one another in the bed with a movie. Speaking of movies...

Netflix is our best friend when it comes to watching movies right now. We're musicians, so we're on the move 24/7 #giglife. You can watch it anywhere which is extremely convenient.
If you're like me and need to shut your brain off from time to time , this is perfect.
On our anniversary we found an amazing piano series on Netflix called, "The Piano in the Forest". So good! If you love music and anime then this series is perfect for you lol.
Suggestion: Find a movie that both of you would enjoy. Also, it doesn't hurt to wear something that's visually pleasing to your spouse. You may or may not get through the movie lol.
I have a very keen sense of smell. I smell EVERYTHING. If something stinks, it can totally ruin my mood, so I made sure that our home smelled good, the food smelled good, and of course, I did too.
Suggestion(s): Take some time out earlier in the week to clean your home. If you guys are going to be in bed, wash your sheets with your favorite detergent, and maybe add your favorite essential oil in the dryer.
Take a bath or a long hot shower with your favorite body wash or bubble bath, put on a very moisturizing lotion( coconut oil works too), and his/her favorite scent that you wear. I promise, they'll love it!
My mother has been prepping me to be a wife for as long as I can remember. From a very early age she taught me to cook, clean, dress, and all about healthy, soft skin. And I quote, "Don't no man wanna touch no rough skinned woman. Put on some lotion!" 😂, and it's the same for women because I love when James' skin is soft and moisturized.
So, to reiterate, after your shower or bath, put on a moisturizing lotion that'll make your skin feel soft (no harm in using a moisturizing body wash as well). There's no touch like your spouse's, so adding lotion to your body will definitely heighten that sense of touch!
Suggestion: Aveeno with Almond Oil feels divine on skin, and it has a very pleasant and fresh scent that pairs well with perfumes, body oils, colognes, etc.
Welp, that's it folks. We rested and hung out ALL day. It was nothing short of amazing!
I guess sometimes you just need a little R&R, and doing it with your spouse makes it all the better. I hope you enjoyed this post!
